Prof. Zhu is a young expert with outstanding contributions nominated by the Ministry of Health, and recipient of the State Council’s special allowance. He is a member of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a young member of the Committee of Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the Vice Chairman of the Organ transplantation branch of Tianjin Medical Association, a member of the Transplantation Immunity Branch of the Chinese immunity Association, an editorial member of Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Journal of Endocrinology Surgery, Current Opinion on OrganTransplantation (Chinese edition), Chinese Journal of Transplantation (electronic edition) , and Organ transplantation, the communication editor of Chinese Journal of Surgery , a guest reviewer of Chinese Journal of Organ transplantation and etc.

He has been engaged in the general surgery work since 1991, and in liver surgery and liver transplantation since 1998. He has completed more than 1800 cases of liver transplantation up to May. 2015, including more than 400 cases of living donor liver transplantation, more than 80 cases of splitting liver transplantation, and more than 300 cases of children liver transplantation. He completed the most surgery cases of liver transplantation in China.

He achieved second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award as the secondary co-author and China Medical Technology Award in 2010. He published more than 200 scientific research papers, participated in the writing and translation of 6 books, and edited one book. He has made 8 scientific research achievements; He is in charge of projects of National Natural Science Foundation and projects of Beijing Science and Technology Commission.
