Dong Chen, MD, PhD (Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery)

Prof. Dong Chen is a member of several Chinese Medical Societies including the Youth Committee of Chinese Medical Association in the field of Biliary Surgery, the management of liver and biliary pancreatic surgery, Guangdong provincial medical profession association. He completed his medical studies and attained his ph.D. and M.D. degree of Surgery at Sun Yat-Sen University.

His clinical research interest include surgical treatment of Hepatocellular carcinoma, Hilar cholangiocarcinoma, Pancreatic carcinoma and Hepatolithiasis. His basic research interest focus on the molecular mechanism of targeted drug of Hepatocellular carcinoma. Professor Chen has published more than 30 scientific papers in Hepobiliary-Pancreatic Surgery, including a study in Hepatology, regarding the mechanism of a targeting drug, sorafenib, in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma ( as a co-author). Professor Chen has also authored a number of peer-revewed journal articles, e.g. BMC cancer, EJSO, BJS, J Surg Res, J Dig Dis. He is currently undertaking several scientific projects supported by National Scientce Foundation or Natural fund of Guangdong Province.
