Hongmei Zeng, PhD (Cancer Epidemiology)

Dr. Hongmei Zeng is Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the National Office for Cancer Prevention and Control/National Central Cancer Registry, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Cancer Hospital/ National Cancer Center. Dr. Hongmei Zeng received her bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Medical University in 2006. She got her PhD from Peking University in 2011, under the direction of Professor Weicheng You. During 2009 and 2010, she was studying in Yale University, School of Public Health. Dr. Zeng’s research interests are in the areas of cancer etiology and prevention, and in cancer registration. She has published more than 30 articles and book chapters in cancer epidemiological area. She has participated in many national research programs such as “Publication of Chinese cancer atlas” and “Development and assessment of cohorts on upper gastrointestinal cancer screening”. She is also the principle investigator of the many funding programs including “Study on interplay between H.pylori infection and genetic variants in gastric cancer and precancerous lesions” (The National Natural Science Funds), “Population-based cancer survival in Chinese cancer registries” and “Research on the relationship between Long non-coding RNA in plasma and early gastric cancer and precancerous lesions”.
