Liu Yang, MD, PhD, a chief physician and associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University. Dr Yang is the member of the Eighth Youth Committee of Jiangsu Society of Neurosurgery and the member of the Seventh and Eighth Committee of Cerebrovascular Disease Expert Group. He obtained his PhD degree in Beijing Tiantan Hospital under the guidance with Prof. Ji-zong Zhao, China's famous neurosurgery expert, during which he had further training on the diagnosis and treatment (in particular the surgeries) of cerebrovascular diseases including the intracranial aneurysms, cerebral arteriovenous malformations, and hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage. Dr Yang has been conducting neurosurgery in over 2000 patients for nearly 20 years, skillful in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, intracranial tumors, spinal tumors, congenital malformations, and cerebral trauma.

Research interests:

  • Microsurgical treatment of cerebrovascular diseases including complex intracranial aneurysms, large cerebral vascular malformations, deep brain cavernous hemangioma, and hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage;
  • Microsurgical treatment of brain and spinal tumors;
  • Individualized multidisciplinary treatment of traumatic brain injury.
