He then undertook a PhD at St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in the Department of Biochemistry & Immunology. Following this he joined the Laboratory of Dr Axel Behrens at the London Research Institute of Cancer Research UK. The Laboratory moved to the Francis Crick Institute, London, UK in 2016 where he is Principal Scientist and Laboratory Manager.

His scientific interests lie in elucidation of the molecular mechanisms governing stem cell function. As well as studying tumour development using murine genetic models, the lab is also applying knowledge of stem cells and cellular differentiation mechanisms to diabetes.
