Dr. Rongkai Yan is a visiting Scholar Faculty who works at University of Johns Hopkins, USA. She works with statistician and computer science to classify the pulmonary nodules by using the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) data through the Artificial Intelligence method, which could increase the positive predictive value (PPV) and reduce the False-positive rate (FP) in the early diagnosis of lung cancer. She also works with the radiologic physicist to analyze and segment the lung nodules and myocardial ischemia images.

She received her MD Degree in Hubei University of Science and Technology in China. She also attained her master’s Degree in Central South of University of China. She completed her Radiological Residency at The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South of University, China. She was awarded the best resident for each annual review during her residency period. She works in the radiology department in China almost 10 years so that she gets a proficient radiological reading skill. She is a self-motivated, a creative thinker, a fast learner and a good collaborator with good communication and writing skills.

She has published or Coauthored 9 papers in peer-reviewed journals. She published a paper in Radiology journal about the classification of early lung cancer diagnosis recently.
