Francesco Atzori, MD
Director of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Unit, Cottolengo Hospital, Turin, Italy
Dr. Atzori received degree in Medicine in 1993 at the University of Turin, with thesis “ACL injury; surgical treatment and results”. He specialized in Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 1998 at the University of Turin, scoring 70/70 summa cum laude, with thesis “Bone cement’s characteristics and properties”.
He works, since 28th January 1999, at the First Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Turin as ruling doctor, and since 1st February 2008 at Unit of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, University of Turin, Hospital San Luigi Gonzaga di Orbassano, as senior surgeon responsible for the knee surgery and arthroscopy. Since April of 2016, he serves as the Director of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Unit at Cottolengo Hospital (Via Cottolengo, 9 – 10152 – Turin- Italy).
He attends several European stages of specialization, like in Berlin (Germany, March 2004) with Prof. P. Hertel on knee surgery, or in Homburg/Saar (Germany, February 2007) with Prof. M. Dienst on hip arthroscopy. He is a member of the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SIOT) since 1999, of the SIGASCOT from 2007, of the EFORT (European Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatologist) and AO Alumni Association since 2006. Besides, he is also the author of several scientific publications in Orthopaedics, most of them on knee surgery. He serves as the Reviewer of Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and Professor at University “Sacro Cuore” in Rome (Italy) with branch in Turin at University Nursing School
