Xiao Hu, PhD

Dr. Hu obtained his bachelor and master degrees in Biomedical Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He obtained his PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of California Los Angeles in 2004. Dr. Hu’s expertise includes biomedical signal processing, mathematical modeling of cerebral hemodynamics, machine learning, informatics systems, and software development. He has been the principal investigator of 6 NIH grant awards and co-investigator of 7 other NIH and NASA grant awards. Dr. Hu has published more than 90 journal papers and has been awarded 6 US patents with another 4 pending US patent applications. His patents have been licensed by Global Care Quest Division of Karl Storz Inc and Neural Analytics Inc, respectively. Dr. Hu was the recipient of 2013 NASA-Innocentive Challenge on Noninvasive Intracranial Pressure. He is a standing member of the NIH Biomedical Computing and Health Informatics grant proposal review study section.
