Luyan Shen, MD, Ph.D (Thoracic Oncology)
Department of Thoracic Surgery, Peking University Cancer Hospital, Beijing, China
Luyan Shen received her PhD degree from the Peking University in 2011. Currently she works at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Peking University Cancer Hospital as Research Assistant.
Her research interest is translational research in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) and Lung cancer, including bench to bedside and bedside to bench research. Her central focus at Peking University Cancer Hospital is exploring the potential prognostic and chemotherapy evaluation biomarker for ESCC and trying to find ways to increase the chemo-sensitivity of ESCC to chemotherapy. Specifically, Her main research work include identifying the role of Homeobox genes (key regulator of Embryo development) in ESCC as well as the underlying mechanism, building prognostic model of molecular sub-type for ESCC, and investigating the effect of DNA damage repair on chemo-resistance of ESCC.
