Dr. Sai Yendamuri is the Chair, Department of Thoracic Surgery; Professor of Oncology; Attending Surgeon, Department of Thoracic Surgery; and Director, Thoracic Surgery Laboratory at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  He is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo.  He attended the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.  He completed his Fellowship at Harrison Department of Surgical Research, Philadelphia, PA and Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MD.  His residency was done at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX; New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens/Cornell University, New York, NY and Christiana Care Health System, Newark, DE.

Dr. Yendamuri’s main areas of expertise are Minimally invasive thoracic surgery, Esophageal cancer, Complex esophageal surgery for benign esophageal pathology, Lung cancer, Complex lung surgery for benign lung pathology, Mesothelioma, Mediastinal tumors, Tracheal surgery and Photodynamic therapy.  He also has a special interest in Molecular staging of thoracic malignancies, Lung cancer screening, Risk prediction using genomic markers, and Global thoracic surgical training.

Dr. Yendamuri is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.  He is a member of several prestigious surgical societies.  He has published 98 peer reviewed publications - several in top tier journals, and book chapters.
