Fabian Sanchis-Gomar, MD, PhD (cardiovascular damage and cardiac fibrosis/remodeling)

Dr. Fabian Sanchis-Gomar was born in Valencia (Spain) on September the 26th, 1978. He has taken both the degree in Medicine and in Physiotherapy at the University of Valencia, Spain. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Physiology at the University of Valencia, Spain. He has recently obtained a position as a post-doctoral fellow at the NYU Langone Medical Center, Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology of the New York University School of Medicine.  

As regards the scientific activity, he has published more than 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals, his total Impact Factor is over 900 and the Hirsch Index (H-index) is 16. He has participated to more than 100 national and international congresses. He has been awarded with the PhD Extraordinary Award 2014/2015 and the 2015 1st prize in the XVII National Prize for Research in Sports Medicine. He has been also awarded with the Prize for best PhD thesis awarded by the Official College of Physicians of Valencia, Spain. 

The main areas of research include cardiovascular research, particularly cardiovascular damage and cardiac fibrosis/remodeling associated to exercise as well as in arrhythmias, specially focusing on molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias.
