Lung cancer prognosis: can histological patterns and morphological features have a role in the management of lung cancer patients?

Silvia Rinaldi, Rossana Berardi

Abstract

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents approximately 85–90% of all lung cancers. Its incidence is still raising and it remains the leading cause of cancer related death, worldwide, in both sexes (1). Adenocarcinoma (ADC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) represent the major subtypes, even if their incidence is reversing.
